2008 COOKIES HAVE MADE IT TO THE DESERT

7000 boxes of Cookies have been shipped to our warriors this year. MANY THANKS to the Girl Scouts and all of the volunteers that helped make this year a success. We're already hearing from our heroes.

Ma'am,
Just wanted to send a quick note to you and the Blue Star Mothers to thank you for the case of Girl Scout Cookies, they were enjoyed by the Soldiers in the Headquarters as well as by the Security Teams (pictured in the attachment, I am on the far right). We run daily security missions down Route Irish and other routes in Baghdad. Things are busy but that makes the time go by. It is really nice that Patriots like you and the Blue Star Mothers care enough to send things for the troops. We appreciate it, believe me!
Thank you again, All the Way! John

You have no idea how much it means to get such a show of support from our home - the fact that the support came in the form of cookies makes it even better!

Just so you know, I am going to ensure a majority of these cookies make their way into the hands of our wounded soldiers at the 86th Combat Support Hospital, here in the International Zone, Baghdad. These soldiers are not only away from their families, but are away from their unit family as well. Cookies always make anything seem a little bit better.

I recently received a few boxes of "Girl Scout Cookies" Wow! Your expressed love gave these Soldiers a much needed piece of home. It's amazing to see how such a small gesture of love can make a world of difference in the Combat Zone.

I Am A Blue Star Mother

I am the mother of a United States Service Member.
My child gave me this title.
I will give him a heart full of wonder at his accomplishments and a voice that praises his desire to serve.
I will place my faith in his military training and in God’s protection I will give him the prayers that will follow him where I cannot.
I will be strong when I want to cry and brave when I want to cower.
He will know that I am behind him every step of the way.
Because I bear the title of Mother of a United States Service Member.
